William "Jake" Elledge, Sr. Obituary

William “Jake” Elledge, Sr., 76 years old, passed away peacefully at his home the night of January 14, 2023 with his family at his side. He struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for over 27 years. He faced everyday with courage and a positive attitude.

Jake was born on January 23, 1946 in Mark Tree, AR to the late Lester and Goldie Elledge. Jake married the love of his life Diana and they shared a beautiful life together. There was adversity but also immense joy. It was a partnership that spanned more than five decades. For Jake, his family always came first. He was an over the road truck driver for Aker Plastics in Plymouth, IN. He worked long hours to provide for his family, never thinking about himself, only them. Their happiness and security was all that mattered to him.

Jake was an avid Notre Dame football fan. Everyday they played was a good day for Jake. He never missed a game and a win was a reason to celebrate. Go ND! He also loved the Chicago Cubs. If you came to visit Jake the conversation would always go to Notre Dame, the Cubs, or both. Needless to say, he loved the game.

Left to cherish Jake’s memory is his wife, Diana along with their children Michele (Jeremy) Miller, Jason (Amber) Elledge and Nicole (Jason) Catanzarite; grandchildren Gage (Katie) Miller, Hayden Miller, Courtney (Tim) Forte, Caitlin (Nick) Magaldi. and a great-granddaughter, Lucella “Lu” Forte.

The family wishes to mourn in private. The family who loved him completely will celebrate his life.

Donations in honor of Jake may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545. The family wishes to thank them for their compassion and support given to Jake as well as the family.  Online condolences can be made at sjfh.net.
