William “Bill” Lichkay, 78, of Granger, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
He was born on August 17, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Mary (Hadari) Lichkay. He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Lou Kolwicki, who passed in 2021 at the age of 83, and Dorothy Sommer, who passed in 2019 at the age of 84.
Bill was married to Kathryn Bush Lichkay for 15 years. He is survived by his loving daughter, Lauren Lichkay, who lives in Windermere, Florida, along with his four beloved grandchildren: Amelia, George, Jack, and Nora Sewell. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann McMahon of South Bend.
Bill dedicated much of his professional life to accounting, working for many years at Bull Moose Tube before later bringing his dependable work ethic to Utilimaster.
Bill found joy in simple pleasures: tending his lawn, spending time at the bar with friends, working out at the gym, and caring for dogs. His steady presence and genuine warmth endeared him to many.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm, with a short memorial service starting at 2:00pm, on Saturday, June 21, at St. Joseph Funeral Home in South Bend, Indiana.
