Timothy Celmer

Timothy David Celmer, 84 years old, passed away after a battle with Dementia on Friday, March 08, 2024.

Timothy was born on September 10, 1939 in South Bend to the late Valentine and Evelyn (Sochocki) Celmer.

On September 28, 1957 in St. Stanislaus B&M Catholic Church, Timothy married the love of his life, Mary Ann (Szabo), who preceded him in death in 2022. Timothy is also preceded in death by their beloved daughter, Debbie Celmer and his sister, Rose Burkhart.

Left to cherish Timothy’s memory are his children, Timothy K. (Jeanine) Celmer, Tara (Joe) Celmer; grandchildren, Timmy, Valente, Clayton, Marylee, Matthew, and Madelin; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Timothy attended St. Stanislaus B&M Elementary School and St. Joseph High School. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Stanislaus B&M Catholic Church. He was a former employee of the Studebaker and Oliver Corporations then retired from RACO in 2004. Timothy was an animal lover, especially dogs. He loved being outdoors, and particularly enjoyed swimming and gardening. Timothy was also a Studebaker enthusiast and enjoyed music and playing the trumpet.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wedgewood Pines and Southern Care Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Timothy in his final months. 

Friends and family will be received from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024 with a rosary being prayed at 6:00pm in St. Joseph Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, March 15, 2024 in St. Stanislaus B&M Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
