Teresa Almanza Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teresa G. Almanza, 70, of South Bend, IN, who entered into eternal rest at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Teresa was born on December 21, 1954, in Fresno, California to the late Manuel and Natalia (Arriaga) Gallardo. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Cristina Almanza. She leaves behind the love of her life and husband of many years, Esteban Almanza, with whom she built a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Their love was one of deep devotion, an unspoken bond that carried them through life’s joy and challenges, hand in hand.

She is also survived by her children: Israel Almanza, Mario Almanza, and Tina Almanza; and her cherished grandchildren: Alex, Christian, and Maciela Almanza. Teresa’s family was her world, and there was nothing she loved more than being surrounded by them.

Teresa had a spirit that was impossible to forget. She danced whenever the mood struck— whether it was in the kitchen while cooking, in the living room while her favorite oldies played, or anywhere a good rhythm found her. Music moved her soul, and her joy was infectious. She also loved going to the movies and traveling, especially to Texas to visit her siblings, where she reminisced about her childhood and shared memories. She was an amazing babysitter, that even children who just met her would not want to leave. Children loved her nurturing soul.

She had a deep, quiet strength, a kind heart, and a love for her family that was unconditional. Teresa always made sure her loved ones felt cared for, understood, and celebrated. Her legacy lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the closeness of her children, and the deep love she shared with Esteban. She will be remembered not only for her beautiful smile and dancing spirit but for the way she made everyone around her feel seen, loved, and important.

Teresa will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 13, 2025 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend.
