Stephen Louis Rokop

Stephen Louis Rokop, 88 years old, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 10, 2023 in South Bend, IN.

Stephen was born on July 30, 1935 in South Bend, to the late Louis and Rose (Szabo) Rokop. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Edward and Genevieve Rosplock, and his 8 siblings.

Left to cherish the memory of Stephen is the love of his life, Joan (Rosplock) Rokop; children, Stephen (Leigh) Rokop, Kim (Tony) Simeri, and Mark Rokop; grandchildren, Stephen (Stephanie) Rokop, Nicole (Grant) Carter, Alix Rokop, Ashley (Ray) Kowalski, Hannah Rokop, Abigail Rokop, and Hunter Rokop; and his great-grandchildren, Kylynn Rokop, Jaxson Carter, Amelia Carter, and Peyton Szuba.

Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Army and was an Army Mechanic until his retirement. He loved to bowl, cook, build model airplanes, watching his old war movies, and sitting out on his front porch listening to his country music on the radio. Stephen was very involved being an umpire for the ICCL for 36 years and even serving as an usher at his parish, St. Jude Catholic Church. Above all, he loved his grandkids dearly and being a Poppy. He would always try to make it to his grandkids sporting events and support them in all that they did. He was truly loved by everyone and he will be missed by all.

The family will host a private service at a later date. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
