Shirley Ann Krieg, 87 years old, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2025 surrounded by her family at her residence in South Bend.
Shirley was born on March 19, 1938 to the late Robert Henry and Clara Belle (Vaughn) Lawson. On October 20, 1957, Shirley married the love of her life, Jack Leroy Krieg, who passed in 2017. Shirley is also preceded in death by her son, Bruce Krieg.
Shirley is survived by children; Felecia (John Buda) Kruk and Brian (Kathie) Krieg; grandchildren: Melissa, Brent, Rob, Zach, Sarah, Chelsea, and Kristine; 14 Great-Grandchildren; and her siblings, Patsy Manes and Robert Lawson.
Shirleys love for life shone through in everything she did. She loved the fun and excitement of bingo, scratch-offs, and the occasional gambling trip to the casino, and she spent many days golfing, bowling, and hunting for treasures at garage sales and flea markets. She cherished her winter trips to Naples, Florida, where she found warmth in both the sunshine and the community around her. Shirley was an enthusiastic shopper, a wonderful cook, and someone who was always doing things for others, giving freely of her time and love. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with her family. Her generous spirit, lively energy, and deep love for those around her will be dearly remembered.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am – all at St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
