Sharon Kay Bratton, 75 years old, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at her residence in Mishawaka.
Sharon was born on March 28, 1951 in South Bend, to the late Bert and Veronica (Klemczewski) Chudzicki, Sr. Along with her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her brothers, Bert Chudzicki, Jr., James Chudzicki, Robert Chudzicki, and Lawrence Chudzicki.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, April Davis, Angie Bratton, and Kim Bratton; grandson, Mason; and brothers, Randy Chudzicki, Joseph (Nancy) Chudzicki, and Dennis (Chris) Chudzicki; as well as many other extended family members
Sharon was known for her quick wit and warm sense of humor, always able to make everyone around her laugh and feel at ease. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she proudly served at Memorial Hospital for 28 years, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and friends. Sharon found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially trips to the casino, but nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with Mason, whom she loved dearly. She was known for her cooking and baking, and even won an award for her amazing Chili. She was always helpful in times of need and had a generous, giving spirit that touched many lives. She was incredibly compassionate – always willing to go above and beyond to serve those around her. Sharon will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN, then again on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, with A funeral service to be held at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend.
Donations in honor of Sharon Kay Bratton may be made out to the family for a Scholarship Fund for Mason.
