Samantha Anne (Stambaugh) Dean

Samantha Anne Dean, 50 years old, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at her residence in North Liberty.

Samantha was born on December 1, 1974 in South Bend, to Connie Mady-Toth, who survives. On September 26, 2009, Samantha married her loving husband, Toby Dean, who also survives.

Along with her mother and loving husband, Samantha is survived by her sons, Aaron Dean and Coby Dean; step-son, Austin Dean; brother, Jason (Michelle) Stambaugh; stepfather, Albert Toth; nieces, Alyssa Stambaugh and Kirstin Stambaugh; nephew, Jared Stambaugh; and great-nephew, Ezekiel. She is also survived by many other close friends and family.

Born in South Bend, Samantha, spent most of her youth growing up in Tucson, Arizona before moving back to South Bend where she grew her own life and family. She was an animal lover, she had her dog, Atlas, and many cats. Samantha enjoyed working in the yard, and spending time outdoors, shopping, reading and collecting books. She was a great friend to all who knew her.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Visitation for Samantha will be Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend.

Memorial Contributions in honor of Samantha Anne Dean may be made out to Pet Refugee or St. Joseph Humane Society.
