Ronald Sorukas Obituary

Ronald Dean Sorukas, aged 83, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at his lifelong home. He was surrounded by loved ones and listening to his favorite 1960s music. He was born on April 12, 1941 to Vincent Sorukas and Alice Evans. He was a proud resident of South Bend, IN and a graduate of Central High School.

Ronald was raised with his only brother, William Sorukas. He was a dedicated tool and die maker at AAA Tool and Die, Allied Screw Products, and Honeywell. He married his sweetheart, Sandra Kwiatkowski, on June 7, 1969, whom he cherished through 55 years of marriage. They later welcomed a daughter, Kimberly Virginia, and son, Vincent Ronald. Over the years, he also gained 4 granddaughters and 10 great grandchildren. Some of his proudest moments included when his son was inducted into the St. Joe Valley USBC Hall of Fame and his oldest granddaughter became a Physician Assistant.

Ronald enjoyed fishing, going to sprint car races, and drinking beer with his buddies. He had a passion for mechanics and was always working on something in the garage. Him and his son spent most of their time together racing bikes. He also enjoyed taking trips around the country with his family in their motorhome and never missed the chance to cheer on his granddaughters at their sporting events. After retiring, Ronald loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycles with his favorite biker crew. His house was always filled with the laughter and joy of his great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Wayne Kwiatkowski, best friend, Lee Baker, and great grandson Finnick. He is survived by the love of his life, Sandi, brother, William (Diane) Sorukas, children, Kimberly (William) Redman and Vincent (Meg) Sorukas, granddaughters, Mackenzie (Sebashtian) Warrick, Kaitlyn (Andrea) Hall, Karagan Redman, and Kamryn (Parker) Adkins, and great grandchildren, Zeke, Pierce, Ozzy Dean (named after Ronald), Arrow, Pilot, Portlyn, Palmer, Kirby, and Phoebe.

The family has decided to hold a private celebration of life after his cremation. To donate to an organization that Ronald himself supported at the annual ABATE Motorcycle Rides use the following link: https://give.rileykids.org
