Ronald James Opaczewski, 78 years old, peacefully passed away in his sleep Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at his residence in North Liberty.
Ronald was born on June 14, 1946 in South Bend, to the late Raymond and Bernice (Zelasko) Opaczewski.
Ronald is survived by his sister, Cynthia Opaczewski; as well as various other family members.
Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. He worked at the United States Postal Service, where he retired. Ron was a quiet soul who loved being outside in the nature. His favorite place to be was roaming on his property in North Liberty. He also loved Polish food, his family, and animals – especially his dog, Starr.
There will be no services per Ronalds wishes. Arrangements are being trusted to St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later time at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
