Rodney J. Avery

Rodney J. Avery, age 57, of South Bend, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, June 22nd, 2024. He is survived by his wife Janine Avery of South Bend, son Tyler Avery of South Bend and daughters Lauren Ann Avery of South Bend, Amanda Dudzinski of South Bend, Nicole Schultz (Jonathan) of Stevensville, Brooke Dudzinski of Elkhart, and sister-in-law Dawn Avery of Michigan.

Rodney was an avid "dad joke" teller, king of the grill, and dedicated Notre Dame fan. He was seldom seen without an ice-cold double Big Gulp in hand, refilled at a discounted price after a little haggling. Rodney loved his family, fishing, and a good Cuban cigar. 

Please join the family on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, at St. Joseph Funeral Home, located at 824 Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN 46619 for visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a service immediately afterwards. A luncheon will be held at the American Legion Post 357, 5514 W Sample Street, South Bend, IN 46619, following the service.
