Robert J Szlanfucht

Robert J Szlanfucht, 87, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2023 at the Paddock Springs Facility, Warsaw, Indiana.  Robert was born on August 3, 1935 to Mitchell and Helen (Bargielski) Szlanfucht in South Bend, Indiana.  He was a U.S. Army, Korean veteran.  Robert was a Parishioner of St. Hedwig Catholic Church.  He retired from the South Bend Post Office in 2007 after 34 years of employment.  Robert married Cynthia Camerer in 2007. He joined her during the Winter months in her Phoenix, Arizona home and they returned to his Colfax Ave, South Bend home during the summer months.  After Cynthia’s retirement in 2016 they moved back to South Bend permanently. 
While in Arizona, Bob would spend his time swimming at the YMCA, and ushering at baseball games including the preseason Cubs games.  He also became a member of Pet Therapy Club where he visited hospitals with his beloved Maltipoo, Molly.  Bob is survived by his wife Cynthia, brother-in-law- David Baltosser (Janet) and cousins/nieces Valerie Krzywkowski Snyder (James) and Sara Krzywkowski Mohn (Glenn) and their families.  He was preceded in death by his parents and cousin, Leo Krzywkowski (Mary), who he was raised alongside of as a brother.  Funeral arrangements will be made through St. Joseph Funeral Home. A burial service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
