Robert G Ross

Robert G. Ross, 85, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 in the Center for Hospice Care, Raclin House.

Robert was born on February 08, 1940 in South Bend, to the late Chester and Helen (Poikus) Ross. On April 13, 1962, Robert married Mary (Mahon) Ross, she preceded in death on January 20, 2018. He was also preceded by his sister, Nancy Mendoza, and brother, Ron Ross.

Left to cherish the memory of Robert are his daughters, Lisa Ross-Lewis, Deborah (Robert) Ross-Chupp; grandchildren, Christopher (Kate) Cox, Alicia Cox, Doug (Kristin Freiberg) Cox, Krista (David Underly) Lipinski, Corey (Jassica) Cox, Robert (Sally) Ross, Marie Pedraza; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen (Chris) Schwelnus, Judy Bragg; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958 - 1962. He worked at the Elkhart Truth for 11 years, and Mishawaka Housing Authority for 15 years. Robert was a member of the Remote-Control Airplane Club, Tri Valley RC, Sky Raiders RC, Michiana Amateur radio - W9RGR radio call sign. Along with his passion for RC’s, he also enjoyed photography and loved animals, especially his cats.

Visitation for Robert will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd.

The family would like to thank the Center for Hospice, Raclin House staff, and especially his nurse Annie, for their care and compassion.
