Rita Theresa (Jankowski) Majewski

Rita Theresa Majewski, 96 years old, passed away on August 19, 2024.

Rita was born on February 3, 1928 in South Bend, to the late Clem and Helen (Grzeskowiak) Jankowski. On June 25, 1949, Rita married the love of her life, Joseph Majewski, who preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Vicki Fireline and Marlene Gosser; a brother, Irvin Jankowski, and sister-in-law, Rita Jankowski.

Left to cherish the memory of Rita are her children, Susan Geyer, Timothy Majewski; grandchildren, Stephanie & Jamie Fireline, Shirley & Amy Gosser, Michael (Lisa) Geyer, Ashley (Sean) Roemer, and Hayley Geyer; and several great-grandchildren.

Rita was a graduate of Washington High School. She retired from Selmer-Vincent Bach and worked other part time jobs. Rita was very musical; she proudly sang in the St. Pius choir for many years, and participated in several plays. Rita enjoyed EWTN and Sister Angelica was her favorite. She and her husband enjoyed dancing the polka at Cobert Lake in Edwardsburg.

Visitation for Rita will be from 3:00pm-7:00pm Friday, September 6, 2024 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Saturday, September 7, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
