Richard “Dick” Kovach

Richard G Kovach, 90, passed away on Monday, May 06, 2024 at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka.

Richard was born on November 30, 1933 in South Bend, to the late Joseph J. and Margaret A. (Nemeth) Kovach. He married Roberta J. Smith; she preceded him in death in October of 2002. Richard is also preceded in death by his daughters, Jennie Kovach, Karla Bella; brothers, Joseph & Chuck Kovach; and sister, Barb Kovach. 

Left to cherish the memory of Richard is his son, John Kovach; grandchildren, Alyssa Bella and Troy Bella; great-grandchildren, Cash Bella, Kinley Bella, and Anna Marie Whitmier; and sister, Joan Kovach.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 284, and the Army Navy. Richard loved hanging out with his family and his friends at the legion. In his younger years, he enjoyed woodworking projects in his garage, watching NASCAR and drinking a cold Budweiser. 
Visitation for Richard will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
