Richard C. Orosz

Richard C. Orosz, 91, passed away suddenly on February 3, 2026 in Memorial Hospital. 

Richard was born on March 29, 1934 to the late John Sr. and Eugenia (Milewski) Orosz. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Orosz, John Orosz Jr; sister, Sharon Lynch; sister-in-law, Maxine Orosz. 

On February 7, 1953, Richard married the love of his life, Barbara Orosz. She survives along with their children, Judy Groenke and Kenneth (Jerri) Orosz; grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Oltmanns and Ashley (Charles) Stockwell; great-grandchildren, Stephen Stockwell, Evelynn Stockwell, Makenzie Oltmanns, and Brayden Oltmanns; sister-in-law, Dolores Orosz; and brother-in-law, Jim Lynch. 

Richard retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation after 40 years where he worked as a painter.  He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, member of the Sons of Legion #357, and the Married Men's Club.  As an avid sports fan, he enjoyed Notre Dame football, the Cubs and the Bears. Richard enjoyed golfing, dancing and traveling with Barb.  He was in great demand in his community as a home painter and took pride in his lawn. Most of all he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday February 6, 2026 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road South Bend, IN 46619, with a one-and-a-half-hour visitation starting at 8:30 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be to Holy Family Church or Hospice in honor of Richard C. Orosz.
