Rebecca Vaughn

Rebecca Vaughn, 63 years old, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Rebecca was born on August 21, 1962 in Chicago Heights, IL to Ramiro and Rita (Segoviano) Cardosa. Rebecca is preceded in death by her daughter, Patrice Velasquez; and her father, Ramiro Cardosa.

Left to cherish their memories of Rebecca are her children, Elena Cardosa of Woodstock, GA and Xavier (Karla) Vaughn of South Bend, IN; son-in-law, Israel Velasquez of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, Anesah Brazier, Destiney Sanders, Kenneth Sanders, III, Elliot Vaughn, Kyire Vaughn, Alaia Vaughn, Nyire Vaughn, Maria Velasquez, Josefina Velasquez, and Jose Israel Velasquez, Jr.; siblings, Yolanda Ureña of San Juan, TX, Edward (Mary) Cardosa of Milwaukee, WI, Elva (Pat) Dawson of Grand Rapids, MI, Armando Cardosa of Grand Rapids, MI, Delia (Jack) Zimmer of Baldwin, MI, Ray (Nancy) Cardosa of Elkhart, IN, and Anne (Jim) Landis of Granger, IN. Rebecca is also survived by her mother, Rita Cardosa of Elkhart, IN; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Rebecca Vaughn will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, Friday, February 6, 2026, with a funeral service to start at 1:00pm all at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN 46619.
