Phyllis was born on January 13, 1935 in South Bend, to Boniface (Ben) and Harriett (Niespodziany) Dudeck. Both are preceded in death.
On August 21, 1954, Phyllis Dudeck married Edmund J. Luczkowski Jr. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Terre Coupee, IN.
Left to cherish the memory of Phyllis are her children, Kathy (Phillip) Lechtanski, David Luczkowski; five grandchildren, PJ (Lori) Lechtanski, Kelly (Tim) Wells, Neal Lechtanski, Meghan (Tim) Berkheiser, and Merideth (Amanda) Minchski, as well as six great-grandchildren, Whitney & Owen Berkheiser, Jaina Wells, Ryleigh & Corwin Minchski, & EJ Lechtanski.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joan (Bob) Beckner, Jim (Suzie) Dudeck and Bob Dudeck.
Phyllis grew up in New Carlisle and graduated from New Carlisle High School. She loved to sew, crochet and do crafts. She also made rosaries at St. John the Baptist Church. Phyllis was a member of St. John’s Altar & Rosary Society.
Visitation for Phyllis will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00pm Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, with burial to follow immediately at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 356 St. Johns Way, South Bend, IN 46628.
