Patricia L (Zakraisek) Spychalski

Patricia L Spychalski, 79 years old, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 surrounded by her family at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Pat was born on August 31, 1945 in South Bend, to the late Victor and Lucille (Zygulski) Zakraisek. On June 11, 1966, Pat married the love of her life for 55 years, John Edwin Spychalski, who preceded her in death in 2022.

Left to cherish their memory of Pat is her son, Jeff (Mindi) Spychalski; grandchildren, Molly, Matthew, Joshua, Hailey; and her loving cousins.

Pat was an avid Sports Fan – she especially loved the Chicago Blackhawks and Notre Dame.  She also enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, reading, and shopping on QVC. Pat also loved animals – especially her dogs, Hannah and Nitro. She had an affinity for the Peanuts Gang including her favorite, Snoopy. She had many great friendships and never missed monthly lunches with her old grade school classmates and Friday dinners with her close friends. Above all, Pat always loved spending time with his grandkids and she would travel to Indy to see them play in various sports.

Visitation for Pat will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Thursday, March 20, 2025 at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, with a one-hour visitation in the church prior to the mass. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
