Patricia Marie (Szalay) Rzeszewski

Patricia Marie Rzeszewski, 61, of South Bend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Patty was born to Joseph & Patricia (May) Szalay. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph; and a nephew, Michael Piechocki.

Left to cherish the memory of Patty is her loving husband, John Rzeszewski; children Amanda, Nathan, Jonathan, and Jacob; as well as one grandchild Joseph J.; her mother, Patricia (May) Szalay; siblings, James Szalay, Joseph K. (Terri) Szalay, Kenneth Szalay, and Julie (Jeff) Piechocki; and nieces and nephews.

Patty graduated as a Nurse in 1992 dedicated to Hamilton Grove Retirement Home and Fort Wayne Burn Center until retirement and received an American Red Cross Special Citation for Extraordinary Personal Action 1990.

Patty loved to spend time with family and friends at the lake she grew up on, especially Lisa and Rhonda. She had a contagious laugh and a warm smile. Patty had many interests through the years such as darts, movies. concerts and she always held a strong faith to guide her. Her loving heart will be greatly missed…

Memorial visitation will be held from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm Friday, September 22, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home on Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN. A Funeral Service will begin that day at 1:30 pm with burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Donations in honor of Patricia Marie Rzeszewski may be made out to the funeral home, to help alleviate funeral expenses.
