Miriam Elaine (Stark) Ely

Miriam Elaine Ely, 85 years old, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at her residence in Granger.

Miriam was born on November 12, 1938 in Muscatine, IA to the late Philip and Sarah (Rosenberg) Stark. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Ed Stark.

Left to cherish the memory of Miriam is her sister, Rosaine James; brother, Sidney Stark; close friends, Mary DiGangi, Mary and Kevin Mosteller. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Miriam was a huge Notre Dame fan – making sure to watch as many games as she could. She also loved dogs. She proudly rescued many, with her most recent rescue being her beloved Benji. Miriam was also a faithful member of AA, where she proudly maintained her sobriety.

There will be no services held at this time. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
