Michael Frances Piechnik

Michael Frances Piechnik, 74 years old, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2024 at Cardinal Nursing Home in South Bend.

Michael was born on February 3, 1950 in Michigan City, to the late Adam and Barbara (Burdick) Piechnik. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ignace and Mildred Burdick, and Adam and Elizabeth Piechnik. In 2005, Michael married the love of his life, Sandra Jane, who survives.

Along with his loving wife, Sandra, Michael is survived by his sons, Justin (Abbey) Piechnick, Joel (Theresa) Baker, and Shelby Baker; siblings, Richard (Donna) Piechnik, Mary (Larry) Berg, and Anne (Joe) Kulasa; nieces and nephews, Richard (Brandi) Piechnik, Andrew (Lindsey) Piechnick, Erin (Jeff) Dettman, and Katie (Craig) Stevens. Michael is also survived by numerous cousins whom he loved.

Michael proudly graduated with a Masters at Notre Dame and was a Theology Teacher at Marian High School. Michael loved all things Notre Dame. He was an avid fan of their sports and he played drums for the ND Band. He also loved listening to the band Chicago.
