Mary Ellen Golabowski

Mary Ellen Golabowski, 71 years old, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at her residence in South Bend.

Mary Ellen was born on March 13, 1955 in South Bend, to the late Roman and Dorothy (Splitt) Golabowski. She is also preceded in death by her sister-in-laws, Susan Golabowski and Kim Golabowski.

Left to cherish their memory of Mary Ellen are her siblings, Paul (Megan) Golabowski, Janice (Bill) Bennett and Rick Golabowski; and her nephews, Paul Derek (Carolyn) Golabowski, Gordon Golabowski, David Bennett, Lee Bennett, Brian Bennett.

Mary Ellen was a woman of deep faith and quiet compassion, who devoutly served as both a lector and Eucharistic Minister at Christ the King and St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr. Her life was marked by a selfless dedication to others, especially the loving care she provided to her aunts and uncles in their later years. In her free time, she found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, from watching her favorite Hallmark movies to sharing laughter and friendly competition during lively games of euchre or in her bowling league. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved nephews – moments that filled her heart with happiness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30pm Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 S.R. 933, South Bend, Indiana with a two-hour visitation in the Church starting at 10:30am. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
