Obituary

MaryAnn Ross, 90 years old, peacefully passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on June 6, 1933 in South Bend to the late Edward and Alice (Pietrzak) Petrowski.

Left to cherish the memory of MaryAnn is her loving husband of almost 72 years, Richard Ross; their daughters, Denise (Joe) Richards, Kathy (Mike) Sutton, Annie (Rick) Eaton, Mary (Chris) Hay, Jennifer (Richard) Marcotte; grandchildren,  Tell Sutton, Nicole Sailor, Lindsey (Tony) Eaton, Lauren (Brendan) Eaton-Fox, Evan Eaton, Jessica (Art) Hay, Windsor (Chelsea) Hay, Nicholas Hay, Ruby Hay, Amber (Max) Marcotte,  Matthew (Kailey) Marcotte, and Helio Gois, her Brazilian Grandson; great-grandchildren, Allissa, Rachel, Luke, Sienna, Rosemary, Malcolm, Arielle, Elise, Adrian, MJ, Ariyah, Harper, Dexter, Kaiden, Mia; sisters, Lorraine Wojcik, Joan Petrowski, Angie Bajer; and step-siblings, Jerry, Carol and Darlene. MaryAnn is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

MaryAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She started her career as a display manager after devoutly raising her five wonderful daughters. She was an incredible artist, was a member of the Pastel Society, Northern Indiana Artist Association and Forever Learning. MaryAnn was a parishioner and active member of St. Casimir School and Church since birth. She played and coached volleyball, enjoyed golf at Bowlers Country Club, and even played on the Tuesday Ladies League up until last year. MaryAnn loved traveling, especially to the mountains, was always up for an adventure and being outdoors. She valued capturing moments of all adventures by taking pictures and making albums commemorating them. She spent many years at Hudson Lake with her family. Above all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday, August 25, 2023 at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 1302 W Dunham St, South Bend, Indiana with a one-hour visitation prior to the Mass at the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of MaryAnn Ross may be made out to ProMedica Hospice, 230 W Catalpa Dr D, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
