Marvin Henry Schmalfeldt, 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 03, 2026 at home with his wife by his side.
Marvin was born on March 20, 1952 in Benton Harbor, MI to the late William and Ida Schmalfeldt. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Fred, & Edmond Schmalfeldt, and sisters, Ida Jones & June Andrews.
On April 03, 2014, Marvin married the love of his life, Kelley Schmalfeldt. She survives along with his sons, Ryan & Adam Schmalfeldt; step-son, Brad Molhoek who he was very close to; grandchildren, Maximus, Brandon, & Ivan Schmalfeldt and William Molhoek; brothers, Ivan (Kim Mattson) Schmalfeldt and Ron (Kathleen) Schmalfeldt; special nephew, Ivan Schmalfeldt and “favorite niece” Julie Greco; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Marv was a union carpenter for over 40 years. He and three brothers owned Multi Phase Builders in Michigan, then retired from Gibson Lewis in 2024. Marv was a member of the Local 413, the American Legion Post 357, NRA, and Harley Owners Group "HOG". He and his wife attended Heartland Church of Lakeville (the Biker Church). Marv’s greatest loves were his riding his motorcycle, camping, and spending time with family and being the best papa ever to William.
The family would like to thank Paradigm Hospice and RN, Laura for all the loving care they provided, Marv and Kelley appreciated your love and kindness.
Visitation will be 1:00-3:00PM, Sunday, March 8, 2026, and 3:00-4:00PM, on Monday, March 9, 2026, followed by the Funeral Service at 4:00PM at St. Joseph Funeral Home, Mayflower Rd.
