Makayla Loraine Rumbaugh

Makayla Loraine Rumbaugh, 29, of South Bend, Indiana, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. She was born on July 1, 1996 to Shannon Rumbaugh in Elkhart, Indiana.

Makayla is survived by her mom, Shannon, her older brother, Austin & Nikki Hoopingarner and her older brother, Justin Rumbaugh both of South Bend. She also leaves behind her four nephews Jayce, Alex, Aycen, and Bentley, and her niece, Octavia, all of which she loved fiercely; her cousins, Matthew & Morgan Rumbaugh of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Logan & Peysyn, her little cousin and best friend Cearia, as well as Cearia’s children, Ahvani and Ahmere; and her Uncle Billy & Brandy Rumbaugh.

She was preceded in death by her mawmaw, Patricia and pawpaw, Billy Rumbaugh; and her uncle, Ben Rumbaugh.

Makayla will be remembered for her strong fighting personality, the love she had for everyone in her life and her infectious laugh.

There will be no memorial or funeral services. Cremation services have been entrusted to St. Joseph Funeral Home in South Bend, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
