Lynn E. Przygoda

Lynn E. Przygoda, 86 years old, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Center for Hospice House in Mishawaka, IN.

Lynn was born on April 8, 1936 in South Bend to the late Thomas and Ethel (Kenna) Minor. On October 24, 1959, Lynn married the love of her life, Gene Przygoda, he preceded her in death on April 21, 2014.  She is also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael P. Przygoda.

Left to cherish their memory of Lynn, are her children, Gina Przygoda, Michael T. (Patricia) Przygoda, and Joseph (Heidi) Przygoda; grandchildren, Nicholas (Janessa) Przygoda, Britney (Nate) DeLeu, Kyle Szalai; great-grandchildren, Michael A, Olive and Pearl Przygoda; sister, Myra Hollars; and her children, Joey Hollars, Lynnanne (Tim) Crowe, Wendy Hollars, Cindy (Stacy Brown) Hollars; and many other nieces and nephews.

Lynn was a very personable person. She was practically a social guru, knowing everyone and never meeting a stranger. During her 35+ years at the downtown hotel, she was able to meet many famous and influential people including musicians, politicians, and even presidents. During her free time, she loved to help others and volunteer. She was a Friend of the St. Joseph County Library – volunteering her time at library functions and book sales, and she also volunteered at Notre Dame helping to lead Tour Guides. Lynn loved to read, journal, draw, doing word searches, and listening to an assortment of music. She also loved watching sports of any kind – especially Notre Dame Football and the Chicago Cubs. She finally got to fulfill a lifelong dream of attending a Chicago Cubs game in 2019. Above all, she loved her family dearly. She was always there to help whoever needed it. She was also very active in her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and social events. For an ordinary woman, she was quite the extraordinary person. She will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation for Lynn will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN with a Rosary to be prayed at 2:30pm.  Visitation will resume from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, March 10, 2023 with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
