Obituary

Linda (Gillean) Barnes, born March 24, 1943- September 3, 2023

 

Linda has left us awaiting the day of reunitement. She battled long and hard with many health

issues. She was born in Tuckerman, Arkansas to Jack and Lucille Gillean and graduated from

New Carlisle High School. She married James Leo Barnes on November 26, 1966, who

preceded her in death, and had two children, James Leo Barnes, Jr. and Joanna Lynn Barnes

Berhringer. Preceding her in death are her daughter Joanna (Tracy) Behringer, her mother,

her father and her two brothers, Fred (Linda) Gillean and Morris (Karla) Gillean.

 

Surviving are her son James (Nashell), her granddaughters Katelyn Barnes, Melissa Barnes

Brittany (Zach) Wright and her grandson Travis Barnes. She will also leaving two great grandchildren, Declan and

Legend Wright, three sisters Martha (Jim) Daniels, Wilma Gillean and Debrah Gillean and two

brothers Gary (Marcia) Gillean and Ronald (Tammy) Gillean.

 

She worked many years in the insurance field, including private investigator. She spent the last

9 years of her career at the Quill Corporation as a credit analyst.

 

She will be missed dearly. Cremation has already taken place. A small gathering of family and

friends will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a future date.(TBD)
