Kimberly A. Zielinski

Kimberly (Rankin) Zielinski, 67 years old, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Kimberly was born on July 20, 1958 in Des Moines, IA to Herbert and Nadine (Brownlee) Rankin. On September 1, 1996 in New Carlisle, Kimberly married the love of her life, Tom Zielinski, who survives. Kimberly is preceded in death by her father, Herbert Rankin; and her nephew, Dakota “Cody” Michael Burke.

Along with her loving husband, Tom, Kimberly is survived by her mother, Nadine Rankin of Des Moines, IA; sisters, Jacque (Tim) Meyer, Sharon Spooner, and Pam Burke – all of Des Moines, IA; nieces and nephews, Nick, Michelle, Riley, Hunter, Megan, and Kelly; as well as wonderful great-nieces and great-nephews.

Kimberly graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and worked as a programmer for Sagent. She loved taking long walks with her dogs.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions in memory of Kimberly may be directed to Illinois Birddog Rescue at illinoisbirddogrescue.org.
