Kathleen A. Ginter, 77, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her residence in South Bend.
Kathy was born in South Bend on February 26, 1949, to the late Theresa H. (Kalka) and Joseph F. Ginter. She worked for the South Bend Tribune for more than 40 years as a proofreader and then in the Tribune library. She was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
Kathy enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Indianapolis Colts. She loved her dogs Mugsy and Snoopy who she referred to as “the boys”.
Left to cherish the memories of Kathy are her niece, Betty and husband Dave Crim of South Bend; nephew, Tim and wife Cindy Kuzmicz of Frankfort; niece, Chris and husband Michael Neises of Granger; nephew, Leonard and wife Carol Kuzmicz of Walkerton; nephew, Bob and wife Marlene Ginter of Milan, Michigan; nephew, Mike Ginter of Elkhart; nephew, Ken Ginter of South Bend; niece, Carol Ginter of South Bend; niece, Frances Price of South Bend; and several other great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Barbara Ginter, Dorothy Kuzmicz, and Marie Ginter, and a brother, Danny Ginter.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, with one hour visitation prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
