Judy M (Chodzinski) McClain

Judy M. McClain, 72, South Bend, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Judy was born in South Bend on August 13, 1952, to the late Leo Chodzinski and Mary Ilene (Tucker) Chodzinski. On February 14, 1997, in Jones, Michigan she married Jayme “Jay” D. McClain, and he survives.  

Judy was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in health care for many years. She loved painting and did many different murals. She also loved crafts, ceramics, cake decorating, and traveling and meeting new people.

Left to cherish the memories of Judy is her husband Jay of South Bend; son, David Lee Ferency Jr. of South Bend; daughter, Susie I. Craig of South Bend; step daughter, Brittney J. McClain of Galveston; grandchildren, T.J., Travis, Brianna, Maciee, Myles, and Mason.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly A. Ferency.

A memorial service for Judy will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
