Joseph Peter “Jack” Lorenc Jr. passed away on May 16th, 2026 at the Brickyard Healthcare in Mishawaka, IN.
He was born June 10, 1943 in South Bend, IN to the late Joseph P. & Mary M. (Kroll) Lorenc. He is preceded in death by his brother Timothy E. Lorenc. He is survived by his brother, James M. (Janet) Lorenc, nieces Lieren (Ryan) Lorenc Klund of Milwaukee, WI and Dr. Lydia (Kody) Lorenc Alayon of Granger, IN, sister-in-law Patricia Lorenc, niece Gabrielle Lorenc Sansonetti of Chicago, IL, nephew Brian (Corrine) Lorenc of Berrien Springs, MI, and cousin Sharon A. Lorenc of South Bend, IN.
Jack was a life-long resident of South Bend, IN. He attended St. Matthew’s Catholic School and was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Italy as a radio-repairman. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1968, he returned to South Bend and completed his degree from Indiana University in 1972. Following graduation, he was employed by Magnum Security for 35 years.
Jack was an avid reader, with a love for automobiles and American history. He was a Studebaker enthusiast and loved to tinker with his collector cars, his favorite being his 1950 Studebaker convertible. Jack loved photography and displayed many of his images in his home.
A visitation for Jack will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 1:00 pm., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home - 824 Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN 46619.
