Joseph L. Sniadecki, 92 years old, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the Providence Home in Mishawaka.
Joe was born March 6, 1931 to the late Louis and Berniece (Kilinski) Sniadecki. On August 20, 1960 Joe married the love of his life, Grace Jean (Vandriessche) Sniadecki, in 2008 she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bernadine Strantz; brother, Irvin Sniadecki; and brother-in-law, Jerome Tobalski.
Left to cherish their memory of Joe are his children, Patricia (Ron) Fimbel, David (Bonnie) Sniadecki; grandchildren, Shane (Mindi) Fimbel, Shannon (James) Abercrombie, Mike Sniadecki, Josh (Dhaisy) Sniadecki, Shea (Greg) Lee, Nicole Sniadecki, Sarah (Mike) Bowser; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked for Studebaker and then AM General, where he retired. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 357 and VFW Post 284, as well as the St. Joseph Club, PNA, and the Grant Road Conservation Club. He loved sports - playing softball, bowling in a league with his wife, Grace, and even coaching grade school basketball for his son, David. Joe was an avid Notre Dame Fan and the Chicago White Sox. He was a devout catholic and was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He ushered there for over 50 years just recently stepping down at 90 years old. Above all, Joe loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. Johns Way, South Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
