Joseph M Herczeg

Joseph M Herczeg, 53 years old, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 surrounded by family at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka.

Joseph was born on June 25, 1971 in South Bend, to the late James and Sheila (Hock) Herczeg. Joseph is also preceded in death by his brothers, James Herczeg, Jr., Jerald "Jerry" Herczeg, and Jonathan Herczeg.

Left to cherish their memories of Joseph are his niece and nephew, Elizabeth (Rick) Herczeg and Chad Herczeg; grand nephews, Bryce Aselt and Gabriel Herczeg; grand niece, Alana Herczeg; aunts, Linda Hock, Virginia Seitz, Nancy Herczeg, and Virginia Hock; uncle, Louie (Nancy) Herczeg; as well as numerous cousins.

Joseph graduated from LaVille High School in 1989. He worked for Midwest Tile and Interior for over 30 years and was a part of the Carpenters Union 413. He loved his beloved Cane Corse, Chewy, golfing, and gardening – always making sure his lawn was taken care of. He liked to watch sports – mostly the Cubs, Indianapolis Colts, and anything Notre Dame. He was extremely caring and had lifelong friends that were more like family – especially Jeremy Haskins, Jeff Jagnecki, and Dana Munger Hamilton.

Friends and family will be received from 10:00am-12:00pm Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00pm that same day at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Bend, IN.
