John Edward Larkin, III

John Edward Larkin, III, of South Bend passed away on March 12, 2024 after a brief illness.

John was a family man 1st and foremost. The oldest of 12 - he helped take care of siblings, then went on to raise his own children. If you were spending time with John, you were most likely watching a Cub's game or perhaps Notre Dame. Only a few days went by without bowling a game or two.

John was is the United States Army from 1964 thru 1968. After the service he married Carol Kalal on September 7, 1968. They were soon blessed with four children whom survive: Deborah, John IV (Lisa), Paul, and Lori. John is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex, Jacob, KayLee, Matthew, and Jacklyn; nine siblings, Fran (Ronnie), Katy Wojcicki (Alex), Patty Sheley (Lee), Michael (Sandy), Thomas, Robert, Rebecca Huff (Timothy), Margaret and Annie.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his parents, John Jr. & Patricia; brother, Joseph; and a sister, Leedle Wiseman (Phillip).

Visitation for John will be from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024 with a Funeral Service to begin at 3:00 pm, all at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN 46619.
