Joan “Joni” Elynn Clarke-Narozny, 70, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 01, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
Joan was born on August 02, 1955 in Hammond, IN to the late Roger and Verl (Golumbeck) Clarke. On September 24, 1979, Joan married the love of her life, Daniel A. Narozny.
Left to cherish their memories of Joni include her devoted husband, Daniel A. Narozny; daughters, Carrie Narozny, Jill Narozny; granddaughters, Stella Narozny, Kaya Mantz; sisters, Robyn (Tim) Johnson, Mary (Ray) Arnholt, Gayle (Bob) Yesenskiy; brothers, Robert Clarke, William Clarke; sister-in-law, MaryAnn (Dennis) Pinner, brother-in-law, Henry (Renee) Narozny; nieces and nephews, Dezire' (John) Meindersee, Emily (Lawton) Hill, Jesse Clarke, Loren Johnson, Kevin (Kelly) Gearlds, Shawn (Michelle) Gearlds, Caresa Batten, Aaron Narozny, Kevin Pinner, Dennis Pinner; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Joni loved art; after earning her degree as a graphic designer she went to work at the Calumet Press. She further extended her education, earning her degree as a Registered Nurse, serving two decades for Memorial Hospital. Joni was a volunteer at Wellfield Garden and very active in her church, St. Pius X. She made blankets, prepped hot meals, and assisted in any way she could to help others in need. She enjoyed traveling, socializing, cooking and sharing meals. She took many adventurous trips to national and state parks with her husband. Joni loved her family, and fur-family the most. Any time spent with them brought her the most joy. She was an excellent listener and would give welcomed advice. Joni was a vibrant, bright, caring, kind soul who will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 10:30AM-11:30AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated at 11:30AM on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road Granger, IN 46530. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local food pantry or an organization assisting those in need.
