My beautiful mother, Jewel Marie Hatfield was born in Double Springs, Tennessee on May 16, 1939.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thelma (Maynard) Stafford. In 1957 Jewel married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life Doyle Hatfield, he preceded her in death in August of 2014, they were like two peas in a pod, always together. She was also preceded in death her brother, Alvin Stafford of Warsaw, Indiana, and a sister, Susan Kay Stafford of Warsaw, Indiana.
Jewel grew up in the little town of Baxter, Tennessee and later moved to Warsaw, Indiana. She was a quiet, kind, and caring woman. She loved her puzzle books and mystery movies. Not to mention spending time with her family and friends. Let us not forget to mention her fur babies over the years.
Many thanks to Dr. John Jacobs, Dr. Brian Jacobs, and the staff at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Also, a special Thank You to the Center for Hospice Care. All Special Angels.
As per her wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation will take place and her ashes will be placed in Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana at a later date. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family.
She was my best friend, my partner in crime, the strongest woman I knew. I am the luckiest daughter in the world. I will cherish her and her memory all the days of my life. Until we meet again…. Love you mom. (P.S) Keep dad in line until I get there. Love you again…Sis
