Janina Potarzycki

Janina Potarzycki, 90, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her home in South Bend.

Janina was born in Wolica Pusta, Poland on October 11, 1935, to the late Jan and Zofia (Mroz) Aleksandrowicz.  On December 26, 1956, in Poland, she married Mieczyslaw Potarzycki, who passed away on November 27, 2015.

Janina was a teacher while living in Poland and was later employed at St. Mary’s College in Building Services.

Left to cherish the memories of Janina are her daughter, Danuta Wadowski and husband Franciszek of South Bend; granddaughter, Magdalena Schieber and husband Michael of South Bend; sister, Teresa Macioszczyk of Poland; great grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Adam, and Ania.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 18, 2026, St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 2505 W. Grace Street, South Bend, 46619. Burial of cremated remains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
