James Quentin Tylavsky, 52 years old, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at his residence in South Bend.
James was born on July 28, 1970 in South Bend, IN to James Tylavsky and Elizabeth (Frick) Launer. James is preceded in death by his father, James, a brother, Anthony Tylavsky; father-in-law, Wendell Niles; and his step-father, Melvin Launer.
Left to cherish their memories of James are his wife, Tonya (Kline) Tylavsky; children Brianna Tylavsky and Logan Tylavsky; step-children, Marcos Herbert, Jr., Cordell Walters, Savannah Barrier, Emilee Barrier, and Ariyah Zalesny; his granddaughter, Cortana Buggs; step-grandchildren, Isaiah, Cameron, Amiyah, and Cayden Herbert; his mother, Elizabeth Launer; mother-in-law, Jeannie Niles; father-in-law, Robert Kline; step-mother, Kathy Tylavsky; brother-in-law, Hugh “Skeeter” Blair; his brother-in-law and best friend, Robert "Booter" Kline, III; and numerous other dear family members.
James was a very handy person. He made furniture, and he worked on his own home improvements and construction projects. He loved motorcycles, cars, animals, and playing cards. He was a member of the Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club and ZB Falcons. James also loved being outdoors. He loved hosting get-togethers with his friends and family, as well as having cookouts and using his hillbilly smoker. He was always young at heart, keeping up with his younger family and friends. James loved his family and his dogs. He always would do things for his family, even if he really didn’t want to, just make them happy. Above all, his granddaughter, Cortana, was the light of his life.
Visitation will be held from 2:00PM-6:00PM with a time to Share Memories beginning at 6:00PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd.
