James Marek, Jr. Obituary

James F. Marek Jr., 82 years old, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023. He was born November 2, 1940 to the late Carolyn (Lambert) and James Marek Sr. in LaPorte, IN.

On September 30, 1978 in South Bend, James married the love of his life, Carolyn M. Higgins, who preceded him in death on September 17, 2017. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter; Natasha Yvonne Kaczmarek; sons, Joshua Geldner and Carlos Marek; his sister, Linda Young; his grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

James served in the United States Army and fought in Vietnam. He Retired from Honeywell in 2003. Some of James favorite past times were writing, reading, fishing, playing his harmonica, and he also loved listening to Bob Dylan in his later years. He was a well-known scooter rider in his neighborhood, making his daily rounds throughout the area including the cemetery where his beloved Carolyn rests. He will be missed by so many. A Private Family Burial has taken place.
