Irene (Walker) Szczypiorski

Irene Szczypiorski, 90 years old, passed away on March 09, 2025 at her home in North Liberty.

Irene was born on April 3, 1934, in South Bend, IN to the late Henry and Mamie (Morence) Walker. On November 15, 1952, Irene married the love of her life, Clem "Butch”: Szczypiorski.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband Clem "Butch" Szczypiorsk; her sons, Gregory Szczypiorski and Terry Szczpiorski; her siblings, Harry Chodzinski, Alice Pauszek, Gloria Chlebek, and Lorraine Zielinski.

Left to cherish their memories of Irene are her son David Szczypiorski; daughter-in-law, Andrea Castle; brother-in-law, Don Chlebek; and her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

Irene was excellent seamstress. She was an avid reader and a skilled quilter. She also enjoyed gardening, and bowling, loved to fish and dearly enjoyed her time on the lake.

A lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Irene was also a Gold Circle member of the Ladies Auxiliary in 2012.

A special thanks goes to her grandson Alan for helping to take care of her up until her passing.

In accordance with Irene’s wishes, no services will be held. She will be inurned with her husband, Butch, and son, Gregory, at St. Joseph Cemetery.
