South Bend – Henrietta Tafelski, 79, passed away at home peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 with her children at her side. 

Henrietta was born in Warsaw, Poland to the late Vincent & Gertrude (Kulpanowski) Klimowicz.  On May 1, 1965 Henrietta married the love of her life, John Tafelski, he preceded her in death on October 4, 2020.

Left to cherish the memory of Henrietta are her children, Doreen Tafelski, John E. Tafelski, and David Tafelski; grandchildren, Justin (Katie) Provines, Alexandra “Sunshine” (Cory) Provines-Knarr, Tanner, Gabriel, & Marissa Tafelski, Emma & Lea Tafelski and Florence “Sweetheart” Jones; great-grandchildren, Jensen & Kinsley Provines; sister, Irene Clark, and dear in-laws.

Henrietta was a fulltime mother and homemaker. She also worked at Kroger’s for 19 years in the Bakery & Deli and 1 year for Meijer's Bakery. Henrietta loved angels; she spent years building her cherished collection of them. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and most of all Henrietta loved going to the casino.

Henrietta’s children would like to give a heartfelt Thank You to Pat Smith for the special, caring friendship she shared with their mom.

Friends and family may visit 10:30AM-1:30PM with a rosary being prayed at 1:30PM on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, Mayflower Rd. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
