Harold Junior Swiatowy

Harold Junior Swiatowy, 84 years old, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at The Waters of Wakarusa.

Harold was born on July 20, 1941 in South Bend, to the late Stanley Walter and Josephine Esther (Ciesiolka) Swiatowy. On June 17, 1960 in South Bend, Harold married the love of his life, Sandra Kay Doetsch, who preceded him in death in 2020. He is also preceded in death by a son, Dana Swiatowy.

Left to cherish their memories of Harold are his children, Keith (Katie) Swiatowy, Toni (Jeff) Wolfe, and Brian (Rose Fleischmann) Swiatowy; grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh Hillebrand) Swiatowy, Shayne Swiatowy, Morgan Swiatowy, Samantha (Cory) Pierce, Tanner Wolfe, Dana Adegil Swiatowy, and Dezamond Swiatowy; great-grandchildren, Sklyer Stevens, Samantha Stevens, and Harper Pierce; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Swiatowy; and his sister, Joan Nyikos.

Harold retired from the South Bend Fire Department, where he consistently took advantage of every training opportunity offered – from scuba training to any driving certification. An avid outdoorsman, he loved catfishing and hunting, where he always had beagles by his side. Harold was an extremely hard worker. He was known for having multiple second jobs throughout his entire life. He attended barber school and became a barber; he worked part-time for Allied Moving Company and even worked in construction. Handy and resourceful, Harold could fix just about anything and especially enjoyed woodworking. He also loved having his family over cooking them big dinners.

Visitation for Harold will be held from 11:00 am-1:00 pm, Monday, February 9, 2026 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 pm in the Funeral Home.  Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
