Genevieve "Jean Ann" (Mroczkiewicz) Rathwick

Genevieve “Jean Ann” Rathwick, 90 years old, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Bell Tower Health in Granger.

Jean Ann was born on April 23, 1935 in New Carlisle, IN to the late Florian and Cecelia (Kush) Mroczkiewicz. On May 2, 1953 in Indianapolis, Jean Ann married the love of her life, Robert E. Rathwick, who preceded her in death in 2008. Jean Ann is also preceded in death by her grandsons Bryan Przybylski and Evan Buford.

Jean Ann is survived by her children, Diane (Mark) Beasley and Thomas (Susan) Rathwick; her grandchildren, Scott Prybylski, Mary (Phillip) Mark, Deaven Rathwick, Nicholas Rathwick, Isaac Rathwick, and Adam Buford; great-grandchildren, Kristopher, Kourtney, Madisyn, Olivia, Sophie, Payton, Kaydence, and Mayson; as well as a sister, Suzanne (Karl) Weigand.

Jean Ann was a member of ZB Falcons, 357 Auxiliary Pulaski Post, and Bowlers Country Club where she loved to golf. She also attended St. John the Baptist for many years before attending Holy Cross Parish. Jean Ann liked to spend her time outdoors – gardening and maintaining her yard. She was always on the move, either exercising at O’Briens Fitness Center or going to Shipshewana with her friends. She also enjoyed baking and refurbishing furniture. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Visitation for Jean Ann will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday October 16, 2025 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 pm, then again from 10:00am – 11:00am Friday, October 17, 2025 at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1050 Wilber St, South Bend, IN 46628. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Genevieve “Jean Ann” Rathwick may be made out to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
