Garry "Bubb" Chadwell

Garry “Bubb” W Chadwell, 70 years old, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka.

Garry was born on April 2, 1953 in South Bend, IN and was raised by his parents, Robert and Sandra (Tennis) Wacunas. On February 8, 1995, Garry married the love of his life, Jill Anderson.

Left to cherish their memories, Garry is survived by his loving wife, Jill (Anderson) Chadwell; children, Cristy (Dan) Green, Gary (Tammy) Chadwell, Ryan (Rebecca) Noojin, and Melissa Noojin; his mother and father, Sandra and Robert Wacunas; sisters, Pamela (Dave) Myers, Linda (Dave) Weist, Michele (Monty) Layne; in-laws, Jennie (Paul) Davis, Jeffrey, Patsy, Agnes, and Diana. Garry is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Garry was a lifelong resident of Michiana. He worked as a carpenter in his later years and was an incredible wood-worker. He built many extraordinary things for his family – including toy boxes, doll houses, random house renovations, etc. Garry was also very generous and had a heart of gold. He would help everyone he could. Although he had a heart of gold, he was also known to be a trickster, and enjoyed picking on his grandkids. He also loved doing puzzles, going on family vacations, and collecting piggy banks and coins. Above all, Garry loved his family dearly - especially his wife, Jill. They would spend as much time together as they could. Together, they were affectionately known as “BubbJill” by their friends and family. He was truly strong, like bull and will be missed by all.

Friends and family will be received from 11:00am-1:00pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd. with a Memorial Service to begin at 1:00pm.
