Esther I. (Witucki) Borlick, 99 years old, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Memorial Hospital.
Esther was born on November 6, 1926 to the late and Irene Napieralski. On July 3, 1948 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church on the hottest day of the year, Esther married the love of her life, John Borlick, who preceded her in death; along with a sister, Eleanor Staszewski; step-father, Steve Nowak.
Left to cherish the memory of Esther, are her children, Susan (Duane) Christner, David Borlick, Lorie (Hugh) Hedman; grandchildren, Hannah, Hallie, Harper, Chad (Tanya), Amanda, and Jason (Megan); great-grandchildren, Chloe, Ashlen, Macy, Noah, Zachary, and Xavier; great-great-grandchildren, Greyson, and Georjah.
Esther was a parishioner of St. Anthony de Padua on Jefferson and a member of the Legion of Mary and ZB Falcons Nest 80. She lived a simple life, grounded in faith and family. Esther found her greatest joy in spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and was known for her caring and selfless nature - especially in the loving care she provided to her husband, John, when he was sick. Throughout her life, she held a special place in her heart for her many dogs, each of whom brought her a beloved companionship over the years.
Visitation for Esther will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm Monday, April 20, 2026 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd., South Bend, with a Funeral Service to begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
