Ernest Meszaros

Ernest “Bugsy” Meszaros, 87, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at East Lake Nursing and Rehab in Elkhart, IN.

Ernest was born on June 12, 1937 in South Bend, IN to the late Peter and Marie (Sinka) Meszaros. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie "Susie" Pasternak and his sister-in-law Audrey Meszaros.

Left to cherish the memory of Ernest is the love of his life and his high school sweetheart, Arlene (Abraham) Meszaros, they were married for 65 years; his brother, Peter Meszaros; children, Gregory (Tina) Meszaros, Gary (Debbie) Meszaros; grandchildren, Brendon Meszaros, Matthew Meszaros, Holly Meszaros, Tessa Winrotte; and many nieces and nephews.

Ernest was a graduate of Washington High School in South Bend, and he was a part of the Joker’s club. He was a letter carrier for 37 years. He also served in the army reserve for 6 years.  Ernest enjoyed fishing and hunting.  Most of all he enjoyed going to support his grandchildren at their sporting events, and many family vacations at the lake.
