Ernest King

Ernest L King, 85 years old, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Ernest was born on August 29, 1939 in Wolf Creek, West Virginia to the late John and Josephine (Roark) King. On October 11, 1958, Ernest married the love of his life, Wanda (Eskridge) King, who preceded him in death.

Left to cherish the memory of Ernest are his children, Tereesa (Larry) Porter, Tareena Harper, Jonathan (Sandy) King, Joseph King, and Jesse King; grandchildren, Jaron King, Justin King, Jason King, Josh Porter, Larrisa Appleman, Jaimie King, Joseph King, Jr., and Brian King; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, John King, Jr.; and sisters, Millie Blair, and Mary Deal.

Ernest enjoyed riding Harley Davidsons, collecting cars – where he restored and resold them, and watching western movies - especially the Hopalong Cassidy films. 

A short visitation will take place at 2:00pm Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery with a graveside service for Ernest taking place at 2:30 pm. St. Joseph Funeral Home, is assisting the family.
