Elba Lee Ness

Elba Ness, 91, passed away Wednesday, February 07, 2024 at the Center for Hospice Care Raclin House.            

Elba was born November 03, 1932 in Alabama to the late Claude and Nova (Jackson) Williams. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernal Robert Ness, Sr., their daughter, Paula Garcia and son, Vernal "Bobby" Ness.

Left to cherish the memory of Elba are her grandchildren, Pablo Garcia Jr., Antonio (Melissa D.) Garcia, Jose (Lilia) Garcia, Dallas Garcia, Crystal (Jeff) Giles, Heather (Darren) Ness-Swofford, Robbie (Kandra) Ness, and Megan (Matt) Leftwich; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Williams.

Elba lived a full life. She was a very sweet lady, but had a stubborn side also. She liked things the way she wanted. Elba enjoyed being on the road, truck driving with her husband, Vernal and traveling with her sister, Margaret. She worked for the Rochester Telephone Company and shared stories with her grandchildren from her years there. Elba loved her family very much, spending all the time she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
