Donald L Weiss

Donald L. Weiss 62, of South Bend, formerly of Niles, passed away on June 17, 2023. He was born on April 5, 1961 at the former Pawating Hospital, now known as Lakeland Medical center in Niles, Mi. to the late Delores Jean Weiss (Worvey). He graduated from Niles Senior High School class of 1979. After graduation he served in the US Army as a Military Policeman from 1979 -1982. When he was discharged honorably, he obtained the rank of PFC/E-3 His last station of duty was 207th Military Police CD of Fort Riley, KS.

Don is survived by a daughter, Angela Mariea Weiss, and 3 grandchildren, Heaven Maynard, Devon Tomaszewski, and Zaylyn Darnell. He was a dedicated member of the Millers Vets Color Guard/Honor Guard since 2010. Performing many volunteer ceremonies honoring veterans who are currently serving and have served our country and making the ultimate sacrifices.

He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, Notre Dame football, and basketball fan and a Chicago Bears fan. He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ since Birth.

Visitation will be 11:00am – 12:00pm, with a service beginning at 12:00pm on Thursday June 29, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Rd, South Bend. Condolences may be made at www.sjfh.net
